Q. What is the difference between a teacher and a tutor or peer tutor?
Our teachers have both teaching experience and teaching qualifications. They are all university educated. Our tutors are native English speakers with some experience but not degree holding. Our peer tutors are also native English speakers but are also students themselves.
Q. What methods do I need to use to communicate with my teacher/tutor?
That is up to you and the teacher. Once you are matched, you can use whatever methods you like including Zoom, WhatsApp video chats, or Google meet.
Q. How does a conversation class help?
Conversation classes can help with speaking and listening it can also be a chance to get to know someone from another country and help students build confidence.
Q. How do I pay?
You can book and pay the teachers or tutors online through our SSL secured website. You can use any debit or credit card using our secure payment gateway backed up by enterprise security.
Q. Can more than one student participate at a time? Will that cost more?
If the students want to organize a group of friends or a class that can be arranged with the teacher/tutor.
Q. Do you supply any teaching materials? Do I have to buy any materials?
That is between the students and the teacher. They may recommend some books or give suggestions but you are not required to purchase and special materials. Teaching materials can be decided on an individual basis.
Q. Can I change the teacher after I start?
Yes, if you are unhappy with your chosen teacher, you can change but due to time differences, you can only choose a teacher who is available at your chosen time.
Q. Can I get a refund if I do not like the lesson?
The first meeting with the teacher is free, if you choose that teacher or tutor you need to pay for the time you spend with them. If you like you can change tutors or stop the lessons at any time, providing the teacher receives 24 hours’ notice, you will not be charged for the lesson that did not take place. If the lesson can not take place due to technical difficulties it may be rescheduled.
Q. How many lessons do I need to have per month/week?
That is totally up to you, you can have as many or as few lessons as you like. You can pay hourly if they just want a one-time lesson only for test prep.
